Most of us have fallen in love at least once. That moment, when in an instant we feel mind body and soul are a beautiful chaos of feelings, sensations, and emotions. Indescribable as it is we know we have fallen under a spell so binding that we can almost feel the weight of the chains holding us slave of such a feeling. We remain tormented and euphoric, crying and laughing, dancing and standing still. Our world, our life, and our own way of being are transformed at once. Yet it cannot be described, but all we know is that we cannot resist, for it would be a futile effort.
If you have experienced all of this for another being, you might have also experienced the pain when by events unforeseen the link is severed. Pain never experienced before leaves us in a zombie like state, as if we were sleep walking through the day and living a nightmare that has no end. Each day the pain is easier to bear, but it truly never goes away, like a ghost it comes and visit in the most awkward moments. Forever marking and leaving a scar that accentuates a wound that will never heal.
There will be times when the pain resurfaces bringing back memories that although not forgotten we have managed to have left behind. Is a clear reminder or our humanity, our vulnerability, but eventually we learn to give love one more chance, the very wound that never heals pushes us into love again.
Yours truly,
Franklin Peña
